Thijs Valkenburg

He took a degree in Forest and Environmental Expertise in The Netherlands. He also took several graduate traineeships related to birdlife in Azores, Madeira and also in The Netherlands. He has contributed to several scientific projects, including the projects Arenaria, Atlas of Breeding Birds in Portugal (mainland) and Atlas of Wintering and Migratory Birds. He participated in various Environmental monitoring projects which took him to several countries in Europe and North Africa. Since 2010 he is the Ornithologist in RIAS responsible for the Environmental Monitoring and the marking and tracking of birds returned to Nature after a rehabilitation process.
