WHAT IS BTN?
Mission: promote the development of Algarve’s nature tourism, contributing for the social, economic and environmental development of communities, through the identity preservation, the knowledge and skills development and adoption of sustainable tourism international standards.
Challenge: ALGARVE + SUSTAINABLE.
Debates Area: gather the main national and international sustainable tourism certifying entities in order to understand the Algarve’s potential, focusing the Natura 2000 Network areas, to establish itself as a sustainable tourism destination at social, economic and environmental levels.
Exhibition Area: exhibit sustainable solutions for the territory’s development: products, facilities and services.
B2B Area: based in the platform Enterprise European Network managed by CCDR, organized in coordination with ATA – Algarve’s Tourism Association, where national and international market agents will gather in order to ensure business contacts and contracts.
Knowledge Workshops Area: Gather a strong knowledge promotion action concerning Nature Tourism, capable of fomenting the development of a more sustainable tourism based upon the territory’s knowledge within nature activities, endogenous resources, identity and tourism companies’ current management models.
Folk Festival Area: illustrative area showing Algarve’s identity, from Barlavento (Windward) to Sotavento (Leeward). Inspired by festivities, habits and customs of local communities, through music, dances and songs, Mediterranean gastronomy, handicraft, traditional games and sales, we aim a contemporary entertainment based upon the Region’s traditions.
