Ricardo Melo

Polytechnic Institute of Coimbra

Ricardo Melo is PhD in Tourism, Leisure and Culture – major in Leisure and Sport (Nature Sports and Sustainable Local Development), at University of Coimbra. He is an assistant teacher at the Education School, Institute Polytechnic of Coimbra. Currently he is the coordinator of the Master degree in Education and Leisure and is the vice-president of IRNIST (International Research Network in Sport Tourism). He wrote and published several scientific publications related to sport, leisure, tourism and sustainable local development. He has collaborated with civil society institutions in the organization of different events and educational projects related to those topics. Ricardo Melo is a fan of nature and adventure and participates in different activities like mountain biking, mountaineering, snowboard and bodyboard.
