Paulo Castro, an agronomy engineer who dedicated the last 30 years to rural development especially in the North of Portugal.
In 1996 became manager of the National Park Peneda-Gerês. He was leader of DRAEDM and since 2013 he manages a consulting company of development and a travel agency specialized in nature tourism.
Cooperates with EUROPARC Federation since 1996 being the elected member of the Board. He is vice-president of one of them.
He is an external auditor of EUROPARC for European Charter for Sustainable Tourism in Protected Areas (CETS) in a total of 30 audited Parks in 4 countries.
He joined work groups for development and was speaker in several countries. In Portugal he supported the development of CETS from PNPG, PNAl, PNM, PNDI, Montanhas Mágicas (Magic Mountains) (ADRIMAG) and Terras do Lince (Lynx Lands).
